A couple of days ago, Teresa Havvas came into Uni to speak to us about her role within the PR and Communications Industry. As I have listed above, she has impressive experience within this field, and showed a real passion for her job. She told us about a recent Brief she had been given at Puma :
- To make brand stand out in retail
- Cost effective
- Establish brand desirability and credibility
- Partnering with Management teams

So just by reading a brief, we get an idea of what her job consists of. She re-establishes the brand and makes it stand out from the competition.

Her plan was to :
- Build an over-sized PUMA trainer instore (with opportunity for public to personalise)
- Design and Create limited edition T-Shirts
- PUMA suede canvas tote bags
- PR Support

On the side lines, Teresa had been planning to create PUMA part of the furniture programme. Including, Interiors within the stores - Couches/Changing Rooms/Mirrors.

Although I found her job at PUMA interesting and exciting, it didn't appeal to me as a career as there seemed to be a lot of Marketing and PR involved, which isn't the field I wish to enter.
Not only did she work at PUMA, but she was also Marketing Director of VOLT Magazine.

Now she had my full attention...

VOLT magazine (in their own words is...) 'a creative hybrid that we created to showcase original (specifically commissioned) work from some of the most directional and vital International fashion talents that are fueling the British scene right now. Over-sized and unbound the unique format was conceived so that every inch could be relished simultaneously and to push the conventional magazine format way beyond it's tight perimeters, producing something that genuinely works a fresh perspective'.

When they say over-sized, they mean over-sized. Each page is A3 sized and although this makes reading it on the bus or the train that much harder, you can rip out a page from the magazine that you like and have it framed as art for your wall and it will look like you have bought it as specifically for that reason.

She was a great inspiration to me, even though I don't wish to enter her field of expertise, her advice was extremely useful to me.
