Brief 5 : 'First Lines'

The Brief :

Often the first line of a script, play, novel or poem can be the richest and most highly charged part of the writing; the way the reader is introduced to the scenario determines how the atmosphere, location and characters are understood. Sometimes a question is posed, an intrigue is put into place and if it is done weel the audience is hooked.
You will take the first line of a novel or poem and create a short moving image piece based around the themes and ideas expressed in it. Avoid using source material that is un-developed or un-interesting. You will need to explore various interpretations of the line and experiment with different methods of conveying it through the medium of film/and/or animation. The line will form the title of your piece.
Consider narrative, colour, sound, music, context, lighting, texture, editing, pace and composition. This is an exercise in economical storytelling; therefore your work must be no longer than 3 minutes long.

I'm very excited about this project as I really enjoy creating my own films/animations. I have already started looking into some films I feel may inspire me...

8 1/2 - FELLINI

The dream sequence is outstanding (some screen shots)...
